About the Role:
We’re on the lookout for a motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to cover 3-months leave within the team. This hands-on role is ideal for someone with previous experience in a food production or laboratory setting who is eager to contribute to a team that values precision, quality, and collaboration.
What We're Looking For:
The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a food factory environment—preferably within the dairy industry—and a strong understanding of manufacturing and lab processes. You should be a team player with excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and the physical capability to meet the demands of the role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine microbiological and chemical testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products
- Adhere to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and site hygiene standards at all times
- Accurately record, interpret, and report test results, escalating any anomalies as needed
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment, ensuring quality and compliance standards are met
- Work collaboratively with production and quality teams to ensure testing supports operational targets
- Contribute to a clean and safe working environment in both lab and factory areas
About You:
- Must have a Bachelor of Food Science and Technology or Bachelor of Science (majoring in Microbiology, Chemistry, or Biotech
- 1–3 years of microbiological testing experience, ideally in a dairy or FMCG environment
- Previous exposure to laboratory practices and procedures in a manufacturing context
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Able to engage effectively with colleagues at all levels of the business
- Physically fit – capable of standing for extended periods and lifting weights as required
- Demonstrates a positive, can-do attitude and a strong work ethic
- Committed to teamwork and supporting a culture of continuous improvement
